Hailey Bieber Ditched Pilates

The Pilates phase? Hailey Bieber says it’s done.

“I think [Pilates] a little over.”

She still loves the method. Really. But she thinks the culture around it has become a fad. Hard to find teachers who actually care about form anymore. Now the focus is different. Heavy resistance. Progressive overload. Power.

Kirsty Godso is the one leading the charge. A New Zealand native now working in LA she’s been with Hailey since her 2024 pregnancy. Their sessions aren’t about looking cute for the ‘gram. They are about fixing postpartum issues like “rib flare.” Godso uses slow highly controlled movements. Maximum time under tension. Muscle gain isn’t optional here it’s forced.

Godso knows her clients are watched constantly. The scrutiny is immense. Women under this much pressure face impossible expectations.

“The most important thing… making sure they feel good for ourselves not just for everyone else expectations.”

She told Remix. It’s not just fluff though. The work is hard. Foundational training stays the same but the specific demands shift based on what’s happening. Hailey was navigating pregnancy. Postpartum life. Godso keeps them at a baseline of strength. Why? Because these people always have something going on. A major shoot pops up on 48 hours notice. No time to recover. No time to rest. They work hard.

You don’t need to be a celebrity to want functional strength that goes beyond the gym walls. If you are short on time try Godso’s go-to combo.

The 3-Move Routine

Do this if you have minutes to spare and a dumbbell handy.

How it works:
– 12 reps per exercise
– Rest 90 seconds between moves
– Repeat for 3 rounds

  1. Banded glute medius hip thrust. Each leg 12 reps
  2. Dual elevated hip thrust. Use a heavy dumbbell. Godso lifts 18kg
  3. Single-leg dual elevated hip thrust. Each side 12 reps

It’s not about the aesthetic. It’s about being ready for whatever shows up tomorrow. Who has time to wait anyway.

Try it and see if the burn matches the effort.
